New Year’s Eve in Zakopane in 2022 is the most popular New Year’s Eve celebration in Poland. It is because it is advertised and broadcasted by the public TV, not because of the superior quality of the party.
New Year’s Eve in Zakopane location and information
The event will take place in Rowien Krupowa, which is a big park in the centre of Zakopane, a few meters from the most popular street: Krupowki. The entrance to the event is free, but is it worth going to Zakopane art take part in the event?
Well, most cities have canceled their New Year’s Eve parties due to a lack of funds, so you don’t have a broad choice. But personally, I would avoid going to Zakopane for the event itself – the city will be extremely crowded, traffic jams on the way from Krakow (read our info on how to get from Krakow to Zakopane), and the hotels will be much more expensive. But if you stay in Zakopane anyway, it’s worth going to the event.
Event’s Line up
As the event is prepared by the Polish National TV, the line-up consists mainly of artists somehow close to the government, mainly performing the disco-polo music (very simple music with no complicated lyrics). There are rumors that the organizer will contract a world know singer at the last minute (Dua Lipa is rumored to be in talks), but so far nothing has been announced. So, what can you expect at the concert?
Very popular disco-polo singer, snuggled by the public TV (they even made a film about him). He is a regular performer at events organized by Polish public TV
She may be considered to be the star of New Year’s Eve in Zakopane. She won season one of the Polish version of The Voice Kids in 2018. She represented Poland in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with the song “Anyone I Want to Be”, and went on to win the competition becoming the first Polish entrant to win the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Her eponymous debut studio album was released in 2019. She is the recipient of the 2019 MTV Europe Music Award for Best Polish Act.
However, her presence in Zakopane is not yet confirmed, as she has had throat problems recently.
Polish singer and performer, who doesn’t take himself too seriously. It seems that his scenic image is far from what he really is – a really intelligent guy. He has released two albums in the rock-polo style – “The greatest hits” and “The best of” – and those are his only albums so far.
Former member of German The Modern Talking, since 2017 having a successful time in Germany again.
Former great singer (Second at Eurovision in 1994), but recently more known for her anti-vaccinate attitude and reckless speeches on various topics. However, still has the same, brilliant voice.
Dzidzio is a Ukrainian band with a comedic attitude to their music. Founded on 9 September 2009 in Novoyavorivsk, it gained popularity on the internet in part due to its “fourth member”, a pig named Meison, with his snout serving as the band logo. The band released two albums.
Other musicians are yet to be announced/confirmed.
